WATR was founded in 1969 and offers groundwater management services in the infrastructure sector. With more than 260 employees and numerous branches across Germany and The Netherlands, WATR is one of the leading infrastructure specialists for groundwater management and water purification solutions in Europe.

 

 

Initial Situation

As part of a management buy-out, Borromin Capital Fund IV SCS, SICAV-RAIF has acquired a stake in the WATR Group. The transaction comprises Koop Watermanagement Holding B.V., headquartered in Gildehaus (Lower Saxony), as well as the Ko-Mats Group with its subsidiaries in Germany and the Netherlands.

Corporate Development

Borromin worked closely with management and strategically supported the group's growth strategy, in particular:

 

  • Geographic expansion of the group's branch network (focus on the Netherlands & Germany)
  • Add-on acquisitions
  • Implementation of a group structure

 

In January 2025 the sale of the shares in WATR Group to a financial investor was successfully completed.
